My Story
Meet Lindsay Dalton, your trauma-informed somatic facilitator
Here to remind you that you hold the medicine.
My journey into the world of somatic healing began with a deep desire to understand how the body holds onto emotion, trauma and residue from our past, and how it can manifest as physical, mental and emotional dis-ease + dysregulation.
Over the years, I have accumulated extensive knowledge in various somatic healing techniques. This has enabled me to develop a holistic + customized approach with each and every individual I work with, creating the opportunity for them to connect into their highest self and their untapped potential.
As a certified, trauma-informed professional, my mission is to share the life-changing benefits of somatic healing with people from all walks of life. I am committed to providing a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for personal growth and transformation, guiding you every step of the way.
Take a moment to learn more about my story, my education and a peek into my sessions. I look forward to holding space for you on this path towards enhanced mental, emotional, and physical well-being.

About Lindsay
I am so happy that you're here.
Over 10 years ago, I was catapulted into this journey of healing and transformation. I knew early on that it was my life's work to share my light with others in efforts to reduce suffering and contribute to the expansion of collective consciousness.
I was born and raised in a highly conservative, controlling religious organization. Throughout my late teens as I began to grow into my own, I knew that it wasn't the right path for me. At 19 I made the incredibly difficult decision to step away from the church, and because of their requirement to shun those who leave, I lost contact with that life and everyone in it - including my family and closest friends.
Even though it was an earth shattering transition, this was the catalyst to my healing.
About a year into my new life, while lost and confused and trying to recreate my entire belief system, I discovered yoga and eastern philosophy. I like to think that it found me, and not the other way around. I quickly realized that yoga was so much more than a workout, and the more I practiced, the more I could feel myself growing in mental, physical and emotional awareness. The ways it healed my relationship with my body and self started trickling out into every other area of my life.
In 2017 when I was 23, I became a certified yoga teacher, and have been teaching ever since.
Throughout my 20s as I continued to navigate through the ups and downs of life, it was my relationship with yoga, meditation, and somatic healing that kept me afloat and in a state of growth. You can read all of the books in the world, but nothing teaches you the way experiencing does.
I moved through waves of struggling with nervous system dysregulation, hormonal imbalances, histamine issues, body dysmorphia, losing one of my best friends to suicide, and navigated through a divorce. Because of my body-based practices I learned how to actually move through the pain and alchemize it into power, instead of avoiding and pushing through. This is what has shaped me into the woman I am today.
I began working at Body Garage in Dayton, OH, which exposed me further to the world of somatic healing, understanding how the body holds onto trauma, how it manifests, and how it can be discharged from the system. It was during this time that I was connected with my now teacher, Tim Morrison, a global somatic facilitator.
In 2022, I enrolled in Tim's certification program. This included a deep dive into topics like trauma, breathwork, childhood development, somatic experiencing, attachment theory, bodywork, shamanic energy work and sound healing over the course of 2 years.
Over the recent years I have also studied hypnotherapy, religious trauma, reiki energy healing and am continuing my education in somatic healing to this day.
My education and emphasis on embodiment has given me the foundation to hold space effectively for a wide array of individuals looking for healing beyond what talk therapy can do.
Personal Interests & Hobbies
I'm grateful to be immersed in a line of work that doesn't actually feel like work, and integrates into my everyday life. I am endlessly fascinated with the human experience.
Reading, watching documentaries, listening to podcasts, cooking and moving my body are things you can find me doing in my down time. I am a huge fan of music festivals and travel to a few each year (another way to get out of your head + into your body). Other than that, my goal each day is to simply practice savoring the moment. Whether I am grounding in nature, spending time with my partner Rob or my close friends, traveling, exploring life in Cincinnati, or intentionally resting.
In my humble opinion, somatic healing is the missing puzzle piece that so many of us need, whether we realize it or not. In a perfect world, we could speak our way into having a resilient and regulated nervous system. But unfortunately, that's not how our bodies work, and it's something that needs to be cultivated on a nervous system level through a bottom-up (somatic) approach.
It can be easy to forget how good you can feel every single day. I am deeply grateful to have the opportunity to facilitate sacred, ceremonial work and show clients exactly how resilient and deeply connected they can feel in their bodies, and spread that energy everywhere they go.
"We cannot speak our way into having a resilient & regulated nervous system - it must be done on a somatic level."

My approach and techniques
My main goal when working with clients is to ensure they feel as safe and comfortable as possible. I work with the language of the nervous system. I attune to who I am working with, I move slowly but effectively using precise somatic techniques, and I meet my client where they are that day.
My sessions are typically 90 minutes long. Because this is not talk therapy, you do not need to do the mental gymnastics of verbally processing. My job is to guide you into your body.
I support my clients in slowly expanding the felt-sense of safety in their body, slowly expanding their level of awareness internally, and gently start to mobilize what has been held in the nervous system that the mind cannot access.
This work does not involve experiencing pain or using force. The body's intelligence and natural healing mechanisms come online using the right techniques that create internal safety and bypass the analytical mind.
While no two sessions look the same because we are all carrying something different and each day is different, our home base is always the breath. I use conscious-connected breathwork, along with a combination of different techniques such as somatic experiencing, progressive muscle relaxation, hypnotherapy/visualization, physical movement/TRE, energy work, gentle body work, and sound healing.
Emotion is energy in motion, so it wants to move. This is how you do it.
"Healing happens from the inside out."
